A look at Austins Land Development Code
Currently, Land Development Code (LDC) allows for habitable attics in 2 story residential and duplex construction. However, the new Code-Next LDC proposes to take effect in 2018 / early 2019, may change the way the height of a building is measured. This will eliminate the ability to build habitable attic space in a 2 story home.
